NAME: Squall Leonhart
AGE: 24
SOCIAL CLASS: Middle
OCCUPATION: Newly Appointed SeeD Commander
PAST/HISTORY:
Squall doesn't remember a great deal of his past, though he does recall enough to support his attitude. From what he can remember, Squall grew up in an orphanage in a small town outside of Gilgamesh. He was told that he was left at the orphanage as a young boy; the woman who brought him (assumed to be his mother) died at the doorstep, holding him in her arms. The woman suffered massive burn injury, though he was unscathed.
His life at the orphanage wasn't entirely pleasant. Growing up with the knowledge that his mother and father had died somehow, left Squall feeling detached from the other children. He grew up far too fast; the unanswered questions of his past haunting him constantly. Though he generally kept away from the other children, he did find a friend in an older girl named Regina.Squall allowed himself to trust her, the two becoming very close friends. He couldn't understand it, but the friendship they shared seemed to fill a void in Squall's heart.
They both agreed that once they were old enough, they would leave the orphanage and try to find out what happened to Squall's family. As fate would have it, when Squall was about thirteen, a marauding band of thieves came upon the small town. They ransacked the entire town, and the orphanage was no exception. During the raid, Squall's young friend was murdered by one of the thieves while trying to protect a pearl necklace that belonged to her mother. Squall witnessed the the entire scene. In a fit of rage, he attacked the theif; earning him the scar that runs across the bridge of his nose.
Shortly after the attack, Squall left the town and wandered into Gilgamesh. That is where he learned about SeeD, and decided to join. There was nothing left for him, and he felt that maybe he could heal his pain by punishing other law breakers.
Squall hates dealing with others, and never lets anyone in on what he is feeling. He comes across as being a jerk to people most of the time, and he wouldn't have it any other way. As long as he can keep people at a distance, he can never know what it is to suffer ever again.
Other Notes: From the trauma of whitnessing his parent's death's, he suffers from a form of amnesia. He doesn't remember anything about his mother, father, or missing older sister.
